As Hyatt's vice president of corporate responsibility since 2007, Brigitta leads the company's global environmental stewardship, philanthropy, community engagement and disaster relief programs. Brigitta also serves as the executive director of the Hyatt Thrive Foundation. She believes that all of us are guests on our planet and she loves working in an industry where she has the opportunity to affect positive change around the world. Brigitta loves travel and adventure – but now that she's a new mom, she is also quite content spending quality time anywhere with her son and husband.

Now in week two of our Global Month of Community Service, countless volunteer projects have taken place around the world. Thrive Thursday: A Look at Brigitta’s Favorite Sustainable Hotels

As you can imagine, it is incredibly difficult for me to choose my favorite examples of environmental sustainability taking place at Hyatt hotels when there are so many inspiring examples around the world.  In fact, it’s nearly impossible to compare their efforts “apples to apples” as there is no one-size-fits-all approach to sustainability.  Every hotel has its own unique set of challenges and opportunities determined by factors such as their country, climate, physical infrastructure, and market segment.
