At Hyatt, we love traditions, and we especially love milestones. So when Grand Hyatt Sao Paulo turned ten last month, we seized the opportunity to thank our guests and our dedicated hotel associates who make it such a special place. It's the "Hyatt way."

In honor of the hard work and fun the team has been having since 2002, the hotel prepared a variety of special activities throughout the month of August. Before we share the experience, hear what Myles McGourty, Hyatt Senior Vice President of Latin America who originally opened this hotel as general manger, had to say about this special anniversary for the hotel:

Ten years of welcoming Hyatt guests couldn't be possible without Grand Hyatt Sao Paulo's above-and-beyond associates. Those who have been with the hotel for five years or more - including the 28  associates who have been with the hotel since it opened - were honored at a special dinner party.

Guests were invited to celebrate with the hotel, too. Chef Laurent Hervé featured new creations on a lunch menu in Eau French Grill, and the hotel hosted two gastronomic events for gourmets and wine experts.

  • For the first event, guests started the evening with cocktails in the Presidential Suite, and finished with a ten-course meal reflecting Sao Paulo's gastronomic landscape in the hotel's Eau French Grill. Favorite dishes of the night included Tapioca with Cod; Shrimp Ceviche with Coconut Milk, Passion Fruit and Cilantro; Terrine of Foie Gras and Crispy Sea Bass with Leek.

  • In a special August edition of the Hyatt Wine Club, the hotel took guests on a tasting tour through the top Argentinean wine regions while enjoying appetizers. José Alberto Zuccardi, oenologist and winemaker from Bodega Familia Zuccardi-Mendoza, presented his newest creation, Malamado Viognier, for the group.
