Hyatt associates at Andaz 5th Avenue family are collecting donations to deliver to a distribution center in The Rockaways.

We want to take a moment to thank everyone in the Hyatt family who has come together in the wake of Hurricane Sandy to assist in relief efforts. Since the storm hit the East Coast on Monday, October 29th, our community of associates, guests and neighbors have come together to respond and give back during this time of great need.
On the ground, Hyatt hotels along the East Coast have been working hard to take care of both our associates and our guests who have been impacted by this storm. With power down, we saw Hyatt hotels such as Hyatt Morristown at Headquarters Plaza reaching out to offer laundry services and electronic needs. Associates at Andaz 5th Avenue are collecting supplies, which they plan to drive and donate to shelters in the Rockaways community.
Within the Hyatt family, associates launched an online fundraising campaign through GiveForward.com to collect personal associate contributions for fellow Hyatt colleagues who have suffered significant losses in the storm. The support has been simply overwhelming.
Additionally, if you are still looking for ways to help, Hyatt has collaborated with the American Red Cross on a dollar for dollar match of donations from Hyatt guests, associates and others, up to $50,000, through November 30. Funds will support the immediate needs and long-term economic recovery of the affected communities.
It is times like these that we are reminded of the strength and support of our extensive Hyatt network. Our thoughts and prayers are with those who have been deeply impacted by this disaster.
