This year marks the fifth anniversary working together with Folio Wine Partners, a Napa Valley wine company and maker of Canvas wines. In 2007, Michael Mondavi and his son, Rob Mondavi, Jr., worked with Hyatt's Master Sommelier Andrea Robinson Immer to develop food-friendly, approachable California wines exclusively for Hyatt hotels and resorts throughout the U.S., Canada, and the Caribbean. And voila! Canvas wines were born.
You know how we like to celebrate milestones at Hyatt. So what better way to commemorate the occasion than with a new Canvas Artist Series Label Contest?
We're drawing on the creative talents of art students across the country and asking them to design a signature wine label. Not only will the winning creations be featured on Canvas wine bottles for release in Spring 2013, but three students will also receive a $5,000 scholarship to continue school. Designs should depict the characteristics of one or more of the three Canvas varietals Hyatt offers:
Now through November 9, submit your original designs at www.canvasartistseries.com. Judges will select three finalists for each varietal and feature their artwork on the site. Between November 26 and December 16, there'll be second round of online voting and additional judging. One winner for each Canvas varietal will be crowned by January 7, 2013.
You may remember last year's contest that yielded brilliant designs from talented art students across the U.S., currently featured on Canvas bottles in our hotels. See the winning designs of 2011 here.
Be sure to check out www.canvasartistseries.com for the full rules and entry guidelines. Good luck!
