This past Saturday, Hyatt hotels around the globe proudly turned out the lights with hundreds of millions of people and businesses in observance of Earth Hour.
Environmental sustainability is one of four pillars that guide Hyatt Thrive, our global corporate responsibility platform. At many of our hotels, dedicated Green Teams of passionate associates planned special events in honor of the unified hour of power conservation. In case you couldn't be with us, we'll share a few of our celebrations around the globe.
Grand Hyatt Doha in Qatar held a candle-lit dinner as a fundraiser, with proceeds providing the donation of 12 trees to 12 schools across Doha. Check out the table set up, complete with illuminated iPads for menus!

The Green Team at Hyatt Capital Gate, Abu Dhabi decked out the poolside with candles to create a picturesque Earth Hour reception for guests and hotel associates. They even concocted a special Earth Hour cocktail to enjoy as they watched the lights go dark. Watch the world's most leaning tower power down in the video below.
When more than 350 guests checked into Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe Resort, Spa and Casino, they received an electronic candle, rechargeable batteries and information to turn off their lights from 8:30-9:30 p.m. During Earth Hour, they hosted a celebration in the dimly-lit lobby, serving organic wine and appetizers. Organic spa samples were up for grabs, too. It all kicked off with an inspirational Earth Hour video, providing information about the global initiative.
