We're back from a fun, whirlwind week with MegaDOers! What'd you say? A MegaDO is a large gathering of frequent travelers organized by milepoint and many volunteers, providing lots of insider secrets and behind-the-scenes looks.
This year, the more than 200 Hyatt Gold Passport Diamond members visited LA, Zurich, San Francisco, Houston, and Chicago all in one trip. Here's a recap of it all, including videos from our friends at Milepoint TV.
Zurich - Park Hyatt Zurich
Upon arrival at Park Hyatt Zurich, the hotel arranged for a walking tour of the city and prepared a special Masters of Food & Wine event, featuring all local food and beverage. The mound of cheese was quite impressive!
San Francisco - Hyatt Regency San Francisco Airport
San Francisco kicked off with a roundtable blogger discussion with Hyatt leadership from area hotels and Jeff Zidell, VP of Hyatt Gold Passport. It followed with an amazing Hyatt reception at Hyatt Regency San Francisco Airport, featuring an out-of-this-world spread of local cuisine. At the reception, Jeff shared what's happening with Hyatt, and Grand Hyatt San Francisco Rooms Executive Sid Ramani briefed the group on what it means to be one of eight "lab hotels." The next morning, we had a buffet breakfast before jumping aboard United's brand new 787 Dreamliner.
Houston - Hyatt Regency Houston
The new airplane provided an impressive experience (with many oohs, ahhs, and clapping), and we spent only a few hours getting some shuteye at the beautiful Hyatt Regency Houston. The hotel prepared a delicious, local grab-and-go breakfast to follow our 4 a.m. wake-up call!
Chicago - Hyatt Regency Schaumburg and Hyatt Regency Chicago
Our arrival in Chicago began with small groups tackling United employee jobs, from stacking in-flight service carts to loading luggage. Other groups visited the corporate office and saw the interworkings of flight operations. After that, we were hosted to a great reception at Hyatt Regency Chicago downtown.
The next day, United organized Q&A sessions with leadership, including head honcho Jeff Smisek. Next, we took a small group to the warehouse where we have Hyatt Place prototype rooms for various regions of the world and model HYATT house rooms. It wrapped up with a giddy-up, cowboy-friendly celebration at Hyatt Regency Shaumburg.

It was a great time, and we always enjoy catching up with old friends and making new ones.
