Maybe it's spring fever, but we can't stop daydreaming about the perfect Hawaiian vacation. Especially with yesterday's grand opening of Diamond Head Tower at Hyatt Place Waikiki Beach, adding 235 more rooms just steps from the clear, warm waters of Hawaii's world-famous beach.

Guests of the hotel can enjoy breathtaking views and so many thing so do, such as surfing, exploring the Diamond Head volcanic crater, shopping in Waikiki's exclusive retail district, and dining at world-class restaurants. The hotel is also great for families with its ideal location close to popular tourist attractions, including Kapiolani Park, the Honolulu Zoo, and the Waikiki Aquarium. One of our favorite things? The hotel's rooftop pool deck, featuring a guest kitchen where guests can relax with free hot breakfast each morning.

The tower opening marks the official completion of Hyatt Place Waikiki Beach, the brand's largest hotel. When it first opened in December of last year with its Pali Tower, we got to share details of the hotel's incredible celebratory luau. What's happening to kick off the final tower opening? Guess you'll have to stay tuned!

You won't find one in Laguna. The only ones I know of are in Anaheim:The MenageThe ClarionRed Roof InnThe Menage has the best location, aslmot directly under the Disney fireworks. If you have a sensitive car alarm, the percussion of the fireworks will most likely set it off. It’s hilarious how the car alarms accompany the fireworks. The mist pool is a great place to watch them on a summer night. Keep in mind it’s an older Holiday Inn with an extensive remodel, and you have to pay for parking in their lot. However, the main feature here is the proximity to Disneyland, and the fact that you can check in if you are 18 or older.
