The labor union UniteHere has recently made false allegations against Hyatt regarding the work environment we provide for our associates. The health and wellbeing of our associates is one of our top priorities, and we want to set the record straight.

We are proud of Hyatt's outstanding safety record. We are also constantly working to improve our work environments through training, worker feedback, employee recognition programs, room design, and other initiatives.

This is especially true for our housekeeping staff. Our hotel teams regularly lead pre-shift stretching and consistently review proper techniques. Our housekeeping staff also has access to equipment such as wedges, mops with various handle lengths, among other items.

The only reason the union has taken to the streets instead of staying at the bargaining table and securing raises for our hardworking associates here is that they are focused on organizing non-union hotels in other markets. 

We have come to expect a certain level of rhetoric and gamesmanship from UniteHere whenever we are involved with their leadership in contract negotiations, but this dishonest attempt to misrepresent the work environment in our properties is well over the line.
