Last week, we began sharing stories about little-known hotels job. Today's job is definitely out-of-the-box - and into the barn!

Paula Greenfield, better known as "Miss Paula" among guests, is leader of Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort and Spa's mascot program, "Hooves, Horns, and Hoss." She oversees the motely mix of fun, friendly and photogenic creatures on property, including a Landseer Newfoundland dog, four Percheron draft horses, two Texas longhorns, two alpacas, and two miniature donkeys!

Located on 405 rugged acres outside of Austin, the hotel is a great natural environment for such an assortment of creatures. Paula helps keep the animals happy by grooming and caring for them. She also serves as the liaison between the animals and the guests, leading her four-legged friends around the property for activities ranging from wagon rides with Julius, Caesar, King, and Lady (the draft horses) to photo opps with T-bone and Ribeye (the longhorns). Sometimes, the mascots even find their way into the hotel!

Paula is a resource to answer guests' questions about the animals and offer fun facts. For example, did you know that the height of draft horses is measured in hands, not feet? Or that Julius the draft horse loves to snack on pears?

Guests often say that interacting with the mascots is one of the highlights of their vacation, and Paula ensures the Hooves, Horns and Hoss program is fun for animals and humans alike!

COMMENTS
Miss Paula not only makes the guests happy and smile she does it also for all of us the employees. I just love getting ready for a banquet and walking the foyers to see one of our fun animals with her. Taking a minute to pat them sure makes a busy day relaxing even if only for a short amount of time. We all love you so much Paula!!! Keep up the awesome work!
