Today, we're excited to let our readers know that the Park Hyatt brand has hit a milestone - 30 hotels! That's right - Park Hyatt Chennai opened its doors today, marking the 30th hotel in the Park Hyatt portfolio and the first Park Hyatt in Chennai (which is also known as the gateway to Southern India).

We've had our eyes on this hotel for quite some time, and the attention to detail is truly incredible. Park Hyatt Chennai has 201 guestrooms, 20 of which are suites, all featuring rich travertine marble floors, plush hand-tufted rugs and deep-soak bathtubs. It's true luxury! But don't just take our word for it, the video below will show you around the hotel and tell you more about the magical city of Chennai.

The hotel takes cues from its surroundings, including the beautiful Guindy National Park, with a flowing landscape and relaxing interiors, complete with a lily pond in the hotel's inner courtyard. Plus, the hotel walls are filled with custom-made art installations that were created around the concept of Indian textiles and heritage.

When it comes to food, Park Hyatt Chennai won't disappoint. The Dining Room features all-day dining and its recipes have been crafted and inspired by the kitchens of local Chennai households. In early 2013, The Flying Elephant will open, which will feature six interactive kitchens spanned across multiple levels.

The hotel's Antahpura Spa has six treatment rooms and infuses culture into all of its services by using indigenous herbs and ancient beauty and wellness practices from the lineage of Chettinad, which is an ancient region in India. Park Hyatt Chennai also has a fully-equipped gym and more than 8,000 square feet of meeting space.
