Shake It Up With Drinks From Another Decade

Whether you're a fan of the 60's or not, most appreciate an old-fashioned cocktail. But for Mad Men fans who've been long-awaiting Sunday's season premier (count us in!), these gems from Andaz 5^th Ave's mixology library will help you welcome the show back in true fashion. Go ahead. Invite some friends over and honor old time Madison Avenue.

Skinny Tie

2 oz Tito''s Vodka
1 oz Dolin Blanc
1 dash Fee Old Fashioned Bitters
Glass: Modified V
Garnish: Lemon Pigtail Twist, Atomized Douglas Fir Eau de Vie

In a shaker with ice, vigorously shake all ingredients and strain into a chilled glass. Garnish with a lemon twist and Eau de Vie, if available.

White Russian

1 oz Vodka
1 oz Coffee Liqueur
1 oz Heavy Cream
Glass: Rocks

In a shaker with ice, briefly shake all ingredients and strain over fresh ice.

Moscow Mule

2 oz Vodka
.75 oz Fresh Lime Juice
.75 oz Ginger Syrup
Top: Soda Water
Glass: Collins
Garnish: Candied Ginger

In a shaker with ice, vigorously shake all ingredients and strain over fresh ice. Top with soda water and candied ginger garnish.

Old Fashioned

2 oz Bourbon
.25 oz Demerara Syrup
3 dash Angostura Bitters
Glass: Rocks
Garnish: Orange Peel, Expressed and Inserted

Build in the rocks glass over large ice cubes. Stir. Garnish with an orangepeel.

COMMENTS

The moisture in the air sniroundrug the glass condenses and sticks to the outsides.The more humid the air, the more condensation forms. On a dry day, very little condensation happens and you don't get those nasty little water rings on your table.
