Hyatt Regency Denver Tech associates

Earlier this week, we announced June is Hyatt's official community service month! As part of this, Hyatt hotels and associates are participating throughout the month in our Global Volunteer Initiative, which brings Hyatt associates from around the world together in a common effort to give back in their local communities. We'll be spotlighting a few of those efforts right here every Thursday in June. It's what we're affectionately calling "Thrive Thursdays."
For our first Thrive Thursday, we're proud to turn the attention to Hyatt Regency Denver Tech Center and Hyatt Regency Düsseldorf.
This past weekend, volunteers from Hyatt Regency Denver Tech Center participated in the Colorado Special Olympics Summer Games, which is the largest competition hosted each year by Special Olympics. Hotel volunteers got into the action by coaching, scoring, timing, and - the agreed upon best part - handing out medals.
Special Olympics is an organization near and dear to the heart for the Hyatt Regency Denver Tech Center family, and the hotel has been working with the organization for more than 10 years. In addition to the Summer Games, they rally volunteers for the Winter Games and other events through the year. When asked about the best part of these events, the volunteers are quick to answer: The smile on the athletes' faces.

On the other side of the globe, the team at Hyatt Regency Düsseldorf will be putting their culinary skills to the test next week as part of a Tag der offenen Tür (Open Day) event to benefit a children's hospice, Regenbogenland (Rainbowland). They'll be making and selling crepes, and visitors who come by can enter the raffle for a hotel gift voucher at Grand Hyatt Berlin.
The hotel works closely with Regenbogenland. In fact, they participated in the same event last year. A tip: Avoid the early rush, because the Hyatt team gets better at the crepe making as the day goes along!

Be sure to check back next Thursday for more spotlights from our community service month!
