But first, let us walk you though what guests can expect with the improved hotel.

• New suites with stunning views: The hotel's now home to three new rooftop suites on a new fourth level, featuring nearly 360-degree views of Sydney Harbor, the Opera House, and Harbor Bridge. Looking for space? Guests can stay in the city's largest suite, the Sydney Suite.
• Fully-upgraded guest rooms: Shelves and walls in all 155 guestrooms are lined with books and artwork, including custom-designed pieces from a local potter. Most rooms have floor-to-ceiling glass doors that open onto private balconies with views of the Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbor.
• The Dining Room: Australian-born chef Andrew McKee's premier restaurant was reconstructed with floor-to-ceiling windows to perfect the Opera House view from all possible angles.
• The Spa: The redesigned spa has five treatment rooms, a relaxation room, and two aromatherapy steam rooms, all focused on complete pampering.
• Meeting rooms: The hotel has five meeting rooms, including the Guest House with an exclusive presentation kitchen and private outdoor terrace.
• Remodeled public spaces: A small group of renowned Australian artists created sculptures, paintings, and photographs inspired by The Rocks and Harbor to connect public spaces and guest rooms to Sydney's yesterday and today.

Once you arrive, Cameron has the perfect itinerary planned for you. As a proud Sydney resident, he'll point out the mix of old colonial and contemporary influences that meet at the start of the city skyline, The Rocks. And he says, with so many great things to do - touring the Opera House, visiting the wine-growing regions, eating your way through Taste of Sydney, shopping in Paddington - it's lucky that Sydney is so easy to get around.

For a signature dining experience, Cameron recommends the great local seafood at Pier and the kangaroo and emu pizza at The Australian Hotel. And The BridgeClimb is a must do if you have the time. But if you can't fit in the three and a half hours it takes, the Pylon Lookout is a great way to fill an hour and gives you a panoramic Sydney view for the perfect photo opportunity.

Cameron's words of warning? The BridgeClimb continues in all weather, so careful not too book too far in advance. Also, be sure to secure tables with confirmed seating times, and check dress codes before heading out for the night. When in doubt, dress it up.
