Late last week, we had the amazing opportunity to bring together 12 talented chefs from Hyatt restaurants around the world to celebrate the soon-to-open New York Central restaurant at Grand Hyatt New York. These chefs included:
From Buenos Aires to Bangkok to Tampa Bay, these 12 chefs (pictured below) gathered in New York City for a special media reception. Here, our chefs heated up the kitchen with a selection of signature dishes from their very own restaurants, which we'll be sharing with you in the coming weeks (get ready - we promise these are truly amazing).
In addition to talking about the opening of New York Central, our chefs also had a chance to talk about their own restaurants and how being culturally and locally authentic is at the root of Hyatt's culinary approach worldwide.
Whether it's Chef Laura DeMartin from TusCA using seasonal ingredients from her rooftop garden; Chef Brian McBride from Blue Duck Tavern going back to basics with traditional cooking techniques like pickling, curing and smoking; or Chef Brent Martin from Urbane keeping food out of landfills by partnering with a local family-owned composting business, all of these chefs have found special ways to deliver a unique experience to their guests.
We are thrilled all of our chefs could come together for this fantastic event and are proud to have them as a part of the Hyatt family.
A quick note before we wrap up this post - stay tuned for more information on New York Central. We'll be bringing you a first look at the restaurant's design and executive chef Christian Ragano's top picks from his menu inspired by the cuisine of Italy, Spain and France!
