What a view!

We know that today's Hyatt Friday Photo banner doesn't look like our regular Friday banner, but how could we resist the sparkling ocean and gorgeous views of Waikiki? That's right, today's banner features Waikiki -- one of Hawaii's premiere destinations and home to the newest Hyatt Place hotel.
Hyatt Place Waikiki Beach, which is the first Hyatt Place hotel in the Hawaii market, opened the doors this week of the 190-room Pali Tower, the first of two towers being constructed at the hotel. The second tower, the Diamond Tower, holds an additional 236 rooms and will be opening in the spring of 2012.
The design for Hyatt Place Waikiki Beach by Group 70 and Looney & Associates was inspired by Ahupua'a, which are ancient Hawaiian land divisions oriented from the mountain summits to the coast. The guestroom towers (Pali Tower and Diamond Tower) are designed with colors and textures that tie back to elements of the mountains referenced in Ahupua'a. The third floor pool deck and social areas are designed to tie back to the forest areas of Ahupua'a, and the lobby is designed to reflect materials found in the ocean and along the coast, shore and beaches.
In addition to the thoughtful and unique design elements of the hotel, guests will also enjoy everything they've come to know and love about Hyatt Place, including complimentary breakfast, complimentary Wi-Fi, a 42-inch HDTV, the Hyatt Grand Bed, the cozy corner, and 24/7 food around-the-clock with sandwiches, salads, tropical fruit, and more. Hyatt Place Waikiki Beach will also feature an expansive pool deck, complete with a fire pit, Tiki torches, beautiful views, and seating for up to 200 people.
To celebrate the opening of the Pali Tower, Hyatt Place Waikiki is hostintg a traditional "LuWOW" reception filled with local dignitaries, hospitality professionals, residents, and local businesses. The party will include traditional Hawaiian customs, including a blessing by a Hawaiian Kahu (priest), as well as hula dancers and fire eaters on the hotel's pool deck.
Make sure to check soon for pictures from the "LuWOW." You can also visit the hotel's Facebook page to check out pictures, information, and more!
