Antonio de Sousa, head doorman at Hyatt Regency Tampa

As we've mentioned in previous blog posts, we love to highlight the wonderful work of Hyatt employees around the world. That's why we're starting a new feature on our blog called "Employee Accolades." Here, we'll take the opportunity to share with our readers the incredible talent and true dedication that our colleagues show each and every day.
We'd like to introduce our first "Employee Accolade" honoree by asking a question: Do you know anyone who has not missed a single day of work for the past 25 years?
We do, and we are proud to have Antonio de Sousa as a part of the Hyatt family. For the past 25 years, Antonio has served as the head doorman at Hyatt Regency Tampa, greeting business and leisure travelers, CEOs, secretaries and all other guests with a warm, welcoming smile.
Known by the hotel staff as the "Mayor of Tampa Street," Antonio bases his job on a simple philosophy: Hyatt is a castle and its guests are royalty.
Whether it is parking a guest's car, assisting with luggage or giving directions to local Tampa attractions, Antonio treats every guest like his own personal guest and delivers a true authentic hospitality that frequent travelers, along with his "regulars," have come to know and love.
And Antonio's dedication to the job has not gone unnoticed — especially with his new role as Hyatt Regency Tampa's Employee of the Year and his recent spotlight in the St. Petersburg Times.
We're proud to feature Antonio as our very first "Employee Accolade" honoree, and we sincerely thank him for spending 25 years exceeding guest expectations at Hyatt Regency Tampa.
