Calling all grill masters and at-home cooks – it's time to transport your taste buds to the islands with the Hyatt Summerfield Suites Caribbean Cuisine Challenge! The recipe contest, which launches today, asks you to submit an original recipe here for a chance to win an iPad®, a one night stay at any Hyatt Summerfield Suites hotel, and the opportunity to have your dish featured at the 2011 Hyatt Summerfield Suites Grilling Socials.

In case you're not familiar, our Summer Grilling Socials are events that take place at all Hyatt Summerfield Suites hotels every other Wednesday evening, June through August, and give guests and associates a chance to mingle and enjoy a taste of summer. And this year, the delicious dishes on the menu could be designed by YOU!

You can submit your dish under one of four categories: protein appetizer, side salad, mocktail or dessert. All submitted recipes will be evaluated by the Hyatt Summerfield Suites culinary team and will be judged on how budget-friendly the recipe is, taste and ease of preparation. Then, one winner will be chosen in each category.

You can incorporate Caribbean-inspired ingredients in your dishes, including coconuts, plantains, shrimp, chili peppers, papaya and many others. We've included a great list of island-inspired ingredients on our site as suggestions, so check them out before you get cookin'.

All entries are due by 11:59 p.m. CT on April 15, 2011, so make sure to visit the site soon. We can't wait to see (and taste!) the items on this year's Summer Grilling Social menu!
