Serving as host to every standing President since its opening in June 1967, we're proud that Hyatt Regency Atlanta, the world's first Hyatt Regency hotel, has created some great memories throughout the years.

Now the hotel is excited to usher in a new era with a $60 million renovation, starting with the redesigned front desk. The desk is very special as it brings the history of Hyatt Regency Atlanta to life with a one-of-a-kind backdrop displaying a cluster of brass key fobs, which are similar to a membership or identification card. Originally named the Regency Hyatt House, the key fob was the very first thing guests received when they arrived, which granted them access to hotel. The 1,000 key fobs now proudly displayed on the wall were collected throughout the years (before the hotel moved to key cards!), symbolizing the hotel's rich history and the many guests who have passed through its doors.

In addition to the new backdrop, the redesign of the front desk is all about evolving the guest experience while preserving the quality and history of the hotel. The front desk dons a new pod-style layout, ensuring an engaging and more intimate check-in experience for guests. Plus, the desk is made of reclaimed black walnut wood and has been specially designed to reveal the beauty and history from the wood's original rescued tree.

These new improvements are part of Hyatt Regency Atlanta's extensive renovation that's going on now, which also includes a facelift for its full-service restaurant, bar and grab-and-go market. While the Radius and International Guest Towers have already been redone, the Atrium Tower guestrooms will undergo major changes to give guests a new, contemporary design. The hotel's new look will be complete later this year. We'll make sure to keep you posted on the progress but would love to know if you've seen it first-hand - let us know what you think of the new look so far!
