As you know, we've been highlighting various Valentine's Day offers, and we thought we'd celebrate one of the ultimate acts of love in this week's Friday Photo – an engagement! At Hyatt, we're fortunate that many couples choose our locations and our people to plan and celebrate that special moment. While our hotels and resorts around the world offer a variety of picture-perfect settings to pop the big question, one of our most popular is on the gondolas at Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort and Spa at Gainey Ranch.

Just how popular is this spot? Marcus, our head gondolier, was present for nearly half of the 15 proposals that took place at the resort over the Christmas and New Year's holidays and estimates that nearly 100 proposals happen on the gondolas during any given year – that's approximately two proposals per week!

So, what advice does Marcus give to those who want to pop the question?

  • Prepare for the proposal well in advance.
  • Make sure to have everything arranged for the proposal beforehand. If you do choose to propose on the gondola, think about proposing either during or just after the most romantic song of all, the Italian love serenade. Make sure to also get on one knee inside the boat to propose. It's definitely sturdy enough--just don't try to stand up!
  • Make sure to say what's in your heart. As long as you do, you can't go wrong.

If you're interested in proposing to your loved one this Valentine's Day, or any other day of the year, you can visit the hotel's website or call 480-444-1234 ext. 5603.
