Yesterday you heard from Brigitta Witt, our VP of corporate responsibility, who let you know about our volunteer day today at two local Chicago public schools, Cesar Chavez School and Earle Elementary School, as well as a local community center, the Abraham Lincoln Centre.
With the holiday season upon us, the entire Hyatt corporate office is in the spirit of giving back , and we couldn't be more excited to get started. Check out the picture below of all the Hyatt volunteers united and ready to start their holiday volunteer day!
To help coordinate the event, Hyatt partnered with City Year, a national charitable organization that unites young people for a year of service. Together, Hyatt and City Year will participate in this transformational day of service to help create a more vibrant learning environment for students in Chicago. Make sure to watch the video below where City Year leads Hyatt in some fun warm-up activities to get everyone ready for a big day of community service!
In total, there will be nearly 400 Hyatt associates participating in today's efforts, serving a collective total of 1,945 hours. With 781 students at Cesar Chavez Multicultural Academic Center, 335 students at Earle Elementary, and the 800 families that are involved with the Abraham Lincoln Centre, today's volunteer day will impact nearly 2,000 families here in the Chicago area.
Make sure to check back soon when we share "before" and "after" photos from today's event!
