In addition to throwing an amazing opening party, the hotel has been quite busy. Andaz Amsterdam Prinsengracht recently participated in Amsterdam Art Weekend (kicked off by the organization Capital A) by hosting its first ever Andaz Salon event. The Salon paid homage to the 40 unique video art pieces located throughout the hotel and guests had the opportunity to take a tour by a local art expert who explained the inspiration and meaning behind each piece.
Andaz Amsterdam Prinsengracht also recently announced a joint donation to the city’s infamous Stedelijk Museum in conjunction with Aedes Real Estate and Marcel Wanders. Reopening after nine years, the museum aims to connect local residents, as well as international visitors, to the arts and culture in Amsterdam. The Stedelijk now has a “Hyatt Room” located on the second floor of the museum, which houses a selection of contemporary art works, including: ‘Femme Nue Devant Le Jardin’ by Pablo Picasso, ‘Fingermalerei – Akt’ by Georg Baselitz, ‘Velazquez’ by Franz West, and Philip Guston’s ‘Painting, Smoking, Eating’ and ‘The Door.’
Andaz Amsterdam Prinsengracht is already making a big splash in the city, and we can’t wait for more guests and locals to experience everything the hotel has to offer. Make sure to check out some great photos below from the hotel’s magical grand opening.
