It's time for another Hyatt Renovation Report, and this time we're focusing on Hyatt Regency Indianapolis since they just announced a $19 million guestroom renovation that is scheduled to be complete by January 2012.

The new guestrooms will deliver a sophisticated style that combines comfort and technology. All 499 guestrooms, including 25 Respire by Hyatt rooms, will feature ergonomic and spacious workstations, custom woodwork, and bright contemporary bathrooms including 170 glass showers. Each room will also be wired with top-notch technology including radio frequency ID guestroom locks, state-of-the-art individual controls, iHome stations and 37" LCD flat screen TVs.

This renovation comes right on the heels of the hotel's addition of the Regency Club in April 2011 and is part of a larger renovation which included the opening of One South Restaurant, Level One Lounge, a redesigned lobby, a Starbucks, and refreshed meeting space.

In addition to Hyatt Regency Indianapolis, Grand Hyatt DFW is also putting the final touches on a  $13 million renovation. The six-year-old hotel has added some modern and eco-friendly enhancements including:

New in-room features:

  • Upscale, residential ambiance with touches of granite, wood and leather
  • High-end art pieces by Dallas-based photo artist Richard Bettinger; his art will also be displayed in all the hotel's public areas, including the meeting space.
  • Dedicated recycling sorting bins
  • Energy saving features, including a window shade system that automatically opens upon entrance and closes upon exiting, and in-room lighting that is a combination of LED and compact fluorescent bulbs, which also automatically turn off once the room is unoccupied.
  • Convenient bed-side touchscreen panels that control A/C, lighting and window shades

New dining outlet features include:

  • Moka: Dedicated walk-up counter/grab-and-go serving premium illy® beverages, panini, gourmet desserts and more; 55-inch flat panel TV
  • illy® Café Artisti del Gusto: Moka has qualified for this designation, and our guests can look forward to enjoying an authentic Italian/European coffee experience featuring the illy® brand.
  • M Lounge: Addition of a small walk-up sushi bar serving sushi, sashimi and select traditional rolls

If you happen to be visiting one of these hotels, make sure to come back and let us know what you think!
