In New York City, art couldn't be a more essential piece of the local culture. And Andaz hotels are known for drawing on inspiration from their local surroundings and neighborhoods. So last year, Andaz 5^th Avenue began inviting artists to stay at the hotel while they paint their interpretations of "View of New York - Today" on two of the hotel's exterior doors. The project was brilliantly named by Cynthia Ho, the hotel's food and beverage director - tbd Art. Right from Fifth Avenue, passersby can watch the artist's progress and enjoy the final product leading to the bar downstairs.

The latest artist, Daniel St. George, just recently completed his "View of New York - Today" on the doors. Throughout the four day panting process, Daniel worked to uncover the suppression he feels the art and music industries have faced during New York's evolution into the modern-day utopian dream, and illustrate the present-day fantastical world he believes we all live in.
