And while our “official” month of service may be over, we’re excited to keep bringing you Thrive Thursday stories of how Hyatt associates are making an impact in their community on a regular basis!

Thrive Thursdays have been a great chance to showcase lots of different volunteer events from around the world. And today, we're closing out our official month of service with an update from Chicago, our hometown.
Last week, 380 volunteers from our corporate office, Hyatt Regency Chicago, Hyatt Regency O'Hare, Park Hyatt Chicago, and Hyatt Regency McCormick Place spent the day in Uptown, helping out at four different community organizations that are making a difference in residents' lives every day.
Why Uptown? Uptown, an economically- and ethnically-diverse neighborhood, was once the Broadway of Chicago, a neighborhood of entertainment and glamour. Today, the neighborhood is still home to Green Mill Jazz (where the gangster Al Capone had a favorite booth back in the 20s), but over time the entertainment district has moved downtown, and many of the buildings have fallen into disarray. So our goal for the day was to help beautify the area as much as possible.
Check out the video to see our teams in action at McCutcheon Elementary, the Robert McCormick Boys and Girls Club, the American Indian Center, and Alternatives Inc.
