#InAHyattWorld: Spreading Love and Happiness on Valentine’s Day
What better way to spend Valentine’s Day than surprising and delighting our guests all over the world? I had the incredible opportunity to do just that with the help of our digital team and Control Room team, an awesome group that monitors our social channels, like @HyattTweets and @HyattConcierge, 24/7. Armed with #InAHyattWorld, we took to Twitter and Instagram, and had the chance to spread love and happiness to so many of our guests, from Pune to Las Vegas.
Determining where Cupid’s arrow will strike next
Cupid’s arrow struck more than 80 times at our hotels all over the world – what would start as a tweet about being a Hyatt hotel, would turn into champagne and strawberries being delivered to your room. Or, one guest tweeted that he was missing his pregnant wife on Valentine’s Day, so we sent him a care package of treats to cheer him up. #InAHyattWorld, anything was possible, and our actions didn’t go unnoticed.
One Hyatt Gold Passport member tweeted that she loved our Valentine’s Day surprises. She wasn’t asking for anything, simply, showing her love for Hyatt. But, next thing she knew, she had a room at Hyatt at Olive 8 for the night. Even Summer from Mommy Points was quick to recognize our surprise and delight efforts, especially our Hyatt at Olive 8 story, and she shared her enthusiasm on her blog.
In addition to surprises of champagne, chocolates and wine, we also gave away three weekend stays in Las Vegas to three lucky winners in Chicago, San Francisco and Los Angeles. All they had to do was tweet us #InAHyattWorld and tell us “three little words” as to why they wanted to spend Valentine’s Day weekend in Las Vegas. The response in all three cities was incredible! We heard phrases that were everything from funny to romantic to practical. My favorite tweet was from our LA winner with “Our First Kiss,” and these little words sent him to Vegas for a Valentine’s weekend with his wife of eight years, where they shared many more kisses and memories.

love we spread throughout the day
There are so many more stories, tweets and photos that we could share from guests all over the world that experienced Valentine’s Day #InAHyattWorld. I was so inspired by my colleagues at hotels all around the world who immediately jumped at the chance to make someone’s day. The day was truly memorable for us, and I hope we made the day special for our guests, too!
