The Newest Pearl in Vienna

Today is a big day for Hyatt and the Park Hyatt brand. That’s because it marks the official opening of Park Hyatt Vienna, our very first Hyatt hotel in Austria. A few months ago, we gave you an exclusive sneak peek at some beautiful pre-opening photos of the hotel and now, we are happy to report that the finishing touches have been completed and Park Hyatt Vienna is open and ready for business!

We think guests will definitely love the hotel’s history, charm and attention to detail. Park Hyatt Vienna is the old site of a 100-year-old listed building that formerly served as the headquarters of a bank, and the hotel’s location within Vienna’s First District (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) puts it right in the heart and soul of the city.

The amazing hotel team at Park Hyatt Vienna has been working tirelessly to get everything ready, and we thank them for their dedication and commitment. They also have been working very hard to find a unique and great way to give all of our Keyed Into Hyatt readers a sneak peek of the hotel and the city of Vienna.

Take a look at the amazing video below that will help you to meet the entire Park Hyatt Vienna team. Throughout the video, you’ll see the theme of a “pearl” – that’s because the hotel calls its associates pearls, the hotel bar is named Pearl, and the hotel considers itself the newest pearl of Vienna – we couldn’t agree more!

We also asked our very own Monique Dekker, the general manager of the hotel, to tell us all about Vienna and why she’s so excited to be a part of the Park Hyatt Vienna family. Check out her responses below and make sure to stop by and meet Monique the next time you’re in town!

How would you describe Vienna in three words?  Exciting, Sophisticated, Unique.

What is your favorite thing about Vienna?  Its diversity — Vienna has so many different things to offer. Diversity can be found in its architecture, its food culture, its citizens, its history. Everywhere you look, there is something new and exciting to see.

Tell us about some hidden gems in Vienna. A picnic in the Vienna Woods, a late afternoon glass of wine at the local farmers market Kutschkermarkt, a walk down the small cobblestone streets in the First District. There are so many things that make Vienna so special.

How does it feel to be GM of the newest Park Hyatt? I feel privileged and am extremely proud. It is such an amazing hotel with a lovely team in a  fantastic city. It is a great addition to the Park Hyatt collection and provides our Park Hyatt guests with a new destination.

What should we know about Park Hyatt Vienna? The building and its location have so much history that there is something to discover in every corner. It is a great mix between Viennese tradition and modern design – you’ll have to come check it out, and we can’t wait to welcome you!
