Hotel Openings & Development, Hyatt Place

Chile’s Capital City Welcomes Hyatt Place

The Hyatt Place brand is really on a roll… and we recently welcomed the very first Hyatt Place hotel in South America! Now with locations in 9 countries, guests’ love of the brand’s consistent guest experience and 24/7 amenities and services keeps Hyatt Place growing worldwide.

Last month, Hyatt Place Santiago/Vitacura joined Grand Hyatt Santiago as the second Hyatt-branded hotel in Chile. With a celebratory cheers, the hotel’s colleagues were ready to welcome their first guests!

Colleagues at Hyatt Place Santiago/Vitacura gather to celebrate the hotel’s opening.

Aside from the sweeping city views of the longest mountain range in the world (the Andes!), one of our favorite features of the hotel is the art wall. It’s a handcrafted map of the world made from pure copper, a naturally occurring metal mined in Chile’s northern region, which is also one of the top exports for the country. Made by Chilean visual artist Catalina Mena, the map was created using the letters H, Y, A, T, P, L, C, and E.  Nearly 2,000 letters were used to create this stunning art piece, which is quite symbolic of the Hyatt Place brand’s expansion throughout the world.

Chilean visual artist Catalina Mena handcrafted this map of the world with copper letters that spell out “Hyatt Place.” Copper is a naturally occurring metal mined in Chile’s northern region.

Come check it out in person, and let our colleagues offer a friendly welcome on your next visit to Santiago!
