CANCUN

When in Cancun, Hyatt Zilara Cancun Chief Concierge Raija Buhring recommends diving into the Mayan culture and getting to know the natural beauty of the Mexican Caribbean.

Guests can find the “Mayan Museum” nearby, where you can learn about the architecture and living conditions of ancient Mayans. Plus, one of the most significant Mayan Ruins – Chichen Itza - is just a few hours away. This is not to be missed; it’s one of the new seven wonders of the world.

Finally, Raija says to check out “Isla Mujeres,” which is just of the shore of Cancun the Island, for fun activities such as scuba diving at the underwater museum known as “MUSA.”

MERIDA

The team at Hyatt Regency Merida also suggests spending all your time taking in the natural beauty and rich history.

As a first step, hop on for a carriage ride at Paseo de Montejo Avenue, the oldest and most important of Merida, to see homes and mansions of the colonial era. Next, visit the Grand Museum of the Mayan World, where you can travel through time and learn more about the mother culture of the region.

For a night out, hotel associates recommend Merida´s Downtown for the impressive Historic Center, museums and local shows.

The best R&R is at Progreso Beach, where the Gulf of Mexico waters are warm, sand is white, and seaside restaurants serve up dishes of the region such as Tikinxic Fish or the classic fish ceviche and shrimp with coconut.

The team also says to explore the world’s most impressive caves in Calcehtok. At a distance of 55km from the capital Merida, you can explore the beautiful underground tunnels with stunning depth. It’s a real adventure!

No matter where you go or what you do, we hope we can help you make your trip even more memorable.
