Thrive Thursday: April is Over, But The Spirit of Hyatt Thrive Lives On!
As our Global Month of Service comes to an end, the energy and impact of our colleagues will continue to be felt around the world. Throughout April, our colleagues have inspired us with countless acts of kindness and volunteer events. From hands-on service projects like Earth Day cleanups and building homes to raising funds for charity and exposing youth to hospitality careers, we’ve seen photos and heard stories from more than 150 hotels across 7 brands and all 3 regions!

San Diego, California – USA
Hyatt House San Diego/Sorrento Mesa helped the fight against world hunger with Feeding America San Diego. The team helped sort and clean apples, tomatoes, as well as pack bags of food. With 16 volunteers, they were able to sort and clean 2,550lbs of fresh produce and pack 224 school bag backpacks, which will benefit students at two local elementary schools.
Park Hyatt Beijing helped plant dozens of trees in their community.
Hyatt Regency Gurgaon teamed up once again with Gaurav Niketan, a grassroots school in their community that is literally located on the side of the street and run by an elderly community volunteer. Without a school building or concrete structure, the 150 children who study there have a very difficult time learning during the monsoon season. Thus the hotel team decided to do something about it. Twenty-five volunteers and several hired masons spent 4 hours under the scorching sun leveling the ground, laying the stones, and spreading the concrete mixture creating a solid floor for the school. The volunteers also planted trees around the boundary of the school to provide a more secure and better place for the little children to study.
